Tour Plan
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Accommodation: Hotel in Entebbe
Activities:
- Arrive at Entebbe airport meet-up and check-in at hotel
- Relax at the hotel or enjoy some leisure time by the beach or bar
- Meet the group
- Welcome dinner featuring traditional Ugandan dishes and a local cultural performance
Day 2: Jinja — Market Visit & Rolex Making
Accommodation: Hotel in Jinja
Activities:
- After breakfast, transfer to Jinja
- Participate in a local Rolex-making session and learn to make this popular Ugandan street food
- Visit a local market to explore Ugandan crafts and produce
- Check-in to your hotel and freshen up
- Take a sunset cruise on the River Nile, enjoying the scenic views
Day 3: Mbale — Imbalu Ceremony & Maleewa Making
Accommodation: Hotel in Mbale
Activities:
- Transfer to Mbale, known for its rich cultural heritage
- Experience the traditional Imbalu ceremony, a rite of passage for the Bamasaba people
- Lunch and hotel check-in
- Participate in a Maleewa-making session with locals, learning to prepare bamboo shoot sauce
- Storytelling session with the Bamasaba people
Day 4: Kapchorwa — Waterfalls & Coffee Culture
Accommodation: Hotel in Mbale or Eco-lodge near Sipi Falls
Activities:
- Head to Kapchorwa
- Hiking around the stunning Sipi Falls
- Visit a local coffee farm to learn about the coffee cultivation process
- Engage in traditional coffee brewing with locals
- Enjoy a bonfire with local music and stories
Day 5: Transfer to Gulu
Accommodation: Hotel in Gulu
Activities:
- Transfer to Gulu
- Stop at a village along the way for lunch
- Check-in to your accommodation in Gulu and relax for the evening
Day 6: Gulu — Craft Workshops & Local Cuisine
Accommodation: Hotel in Gulu
Activities:
- Participate in weaving and craft-making workshops with local artisans (traditional techniques)
- Learn how to cook local dishes such as Lakalong, Malakwang, and Lakotokoto for lunch
- Explore Fort Patiko and its role in Uganda’s history
- Visit Aruu Falls
Day 7: Safari & Murchison Falls
Accommodation: Lodge in Murchison Falls National Park
Activities:
- Optional (if time allows): Visit a community-run post-conflict initiative to learn about Gulu’s recovery
- Visit the Top of the Falls at Murchison Falls National Park and enjoy breathtaking views of the Nile River
- Lunch
- Safari at a natural reserve, spotting elephants, giraffes, and other native species
- Check-in to your lodge and relax for the evening
Day 8: Transfer to Kampala
Accommodation: Hotel in Kampala
Activities:
- Transfer to Kampala with a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to learn about rhino conservation
- Lunch along the way
- Check-in to your accommodation in Kampala and unwind for the evening
Day 9: Cultural Immersion at Ewaffe Cultural Village
Accommodation: Hotel in Kampala
Activities:
- Spend the day at Ewaffe Cultural Village, participating in traditional dances, music performances, and storytelling
- Learn about Ugandan customs, rituals, and beliefs & enjoy the opportunity to wear traditional attire during cultural activities
- Lunch
- Possibility to add on this day a visit to a community project or volunteering
Day 10: Departure from Entebbe
