Tour Plan

01

Fossils Under Your Fingertips

Welcome to Hakel, the land where time stood still. Here, we’ll explore a limestone quarry famous for holding perfectly preserved marine fossils from millions of years ago. After a short hike, we’ll get hands-on: learn to split stone, search for ancient fish, and maybe even take a fossil home.

  • Short hike and insights
  • Fossil extraction activity at the quarry
02

Homemade Lunch

By now, you’ll be hungry, right? Well, this won’t be an ordinary lunch. We’ll be welcomed into a local home in Douma village, where a hearty mountain meal awaits. Everything is fresh, local, and made with love.

  • Homemade Lebanese lunch (included)
  • Visit Douma’s old souk for a stroll
03

Baatara Sinkhole

Time for another nature-made Wow. We’ll stop at the famous Baatara Gorge, a massive natural sinkhole with three bridges stacked above a dramatic drop. If there’s water flowing, you might catch the waterfall diving into it. If not, the rock formations alone are enough to impress.

  • Visit to Baatara sinkhole
04

Final Stop over Akoura lakes

The day reaches one of its most peaceful moments. We’ll make our final stop in the region of Akoura, where a cluster of turquoise lakes sits quietly among limestone cliffs. Take a quiet moment, wander to the edge, or simply enjoy the landscape.

05

Drive Back to Beirut

We’ll head back to Beirut with hearts full of warmth from the hospitality and kindness of the village people we have met.
